1984

To begin, chapter ten was a very surprising chapter to me. It never occured to me in the slightest bit that Mr. Charrington would do something to hurt Winston or Julia. Especially as an owner of a shop like his, I did not imagine him as a member of the thought police.

At the conclusion of book two I have an idea of what may happen next. I believe that being captured, Julia will confess after being tortured because we are even told that everyone confesses. She will give up the fact that she is in the brotherhood and give up the names of Martin, O'Brien, and Winston. Julia will then be vaporized and will cease to exist. I do not think that Winston is going to die this soon in the book. If he died now the book would just end. I believe that somehow the brotherhood is going to save him, and himself, along with O'Brien and Martin, will change their identities and continue their lives. I do think that Winston will die by the end of the book though and this may be either by the party or through suicide for the brotherhood.
